Lagoon Camp boasts eight luxurious twin-bedded tents, made in the traditional African safari style. These tents are all complete with en-suite bathrooms and wonderful open-air showers, enclosed in a reed wall. The view from the suites is breathtaking, looking out over the river.
Lagoon Lodge is also fully equipped with a charming thatched dining area, where scrumptious meals are served and a big, refreshing swimming pool. Guests can enjoy sunbathing around this pool area, or perhaps down by the lagoon. This is also a great spot to try your hand at catching one of the famed Tiger fish.
Some of the activities offered to guests staying at Lagoon Camp include game drives, with professional guides in wonderful safari vehicles. The drives are conducted both at night and in the morning, to ensure that guests get the best of their game viewing experience. Lagoon Camp is home to a great deal of wild life, especially large herds of elephant and buffalo, which will just take your breath away. At night, you will most likely spot a variety of predators, such as the hyena, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. If you’re lucky, you may even get to view a lion going in for the kill.
Lagoon Camp is also the perfect backdrop for some amazing bird watching excursions. You may even get a stunning picture of birds perched on top of the resident hippo’s heads; this is truly a sight to behold! The endangered Sable and Roan are often seen around camp, along with other antelope species, and spotted necked otters. One thing is for sure – Lagoon Camp is an animal haven to be reckoned with!
