Fab accommodation just outside Gaberone
We stayed at Taylor's Cottages at the end of our 2 week birding trip through Botswana and Caprivi. We were dreading accommodation back in a big city so you can imagine or excitement when we arrived at these 2 gorgeous stone cottages on a small holding just outside Gaberone. As they are beautifully positioned next to a river, we were able to continue birding and even identified two which we had not previously seen on our journey. Great accommodation, great setting and Linda was a friendly host who left us to enjoy our last two days in their piece of paradise.

An Awesome Experience
Taylor’s Cottages are comfortable, private, clean and well kept. The owners are extremely accommodating and friendly and cater to your every need. I highly recommend the venue for nature lovers (especially bird lovers) and all seeking peace and quiet in tranquil surroundings.

It’s been a pleasure staying with them, and I look forward to returning.

A wonderful retreat
This is a must stay for those wanting accommodation in Gaborone. Close to the city (10kms), it also allows you the chance to get away. It is next to a dam/river with abundant bird life and even a bush baby visiting at night. The accommodation and facilities are excellent: comfortable bed and chairs, good cutlery and crockery with a microwave and fridge and lovely bathroom with spacious shower. Even binocs to watch the birds. Thought and care has been shown in making this a retreat.

Peaceful little cottage
Taylor's cottage was cosy and beautiful. The attention to detail was incredible-from the hand lotion to bath washes. Although B&B, it had a lovely little kitchen with microwave, fridge full with breakfast stuff and fruits and dishes - we were so relaxed in this cottage. the beds had heater blankets that kept me warm at night and a fan to keep me cool. the beds were very comfortable. The shower/bathroom was incredibly big and comfortable.

Great value and care
I was very impressed by the extra effort taken to make our stay more comfortable by arriving to a fridge full of milk, yoghurt and juices which made life much easier arriving in a new place. The view of the lodges was spectacular on the river with a lovely breakfast and braai area set out.

Very good experience
The experience would have been much better if we had time to spend and enjoy the birds and the quietness of the bush.
Limited value for those that have to be in Gaborone all day but the cottages are well kept and I will recommend it to friends

Taylor's cottages, Gabarone. Fabulous accommodation.
We stayed at Taylor's cottage the first two nights of our three week holiday. The cottage is beautiful, in an exceptional setting. It was quiet and private, with wonderful views over the river, and the use of a canoe. We loved it and would HIGHLY recommend it to anybody visiting the Gabarone area. We also visited the restaurant nearby and were within touching distances of rhino during dinner. Exceptional experience.

Taylors Cottages is absolutely beautiful. It's tranquil & secluded- a tiny piece of pristine Botswana Bushveld, just ten km's outside Gaberone.
Thanks for a perfect overnight stop - to gather our wits and restore our souls after a long challenging day. Lynton & Trish

The Taylors Cottages are situated in the most stunning environment. The Cottages themselves are of utmost comfort, with every detail thought of. We hardly wanted to leave the premises to explore Gabarone and the game reserves!

A "Peace" Of Paradise
Hi there all

I stayed at Taylor's Cottages from Tuesday 20 April 2010 and left on the morning of Saturday 24 April 2010. It was a great experience.

I must just say that it isn't everybody's "thing". If you are expecting to go there and watch tv all day then stay away. If you want to be served hand and foot all day stay away.

This little place is situated on the Notwane river above the waterfall. It is peaceful, tranquil, quiet. If you are someone that loves bird watching, this is an absolute piece of heaven. You are woken up in the morning by the fish eagles and then they return in the late afternoon to come and wish a good night's sleep.

If you are a fisherman, especially fly fishing, you will love it. I don't know whether you would be able to wade but in all honesty that won't be necessary as the fish come right up to the bank. And there are schools of them. Carp, Yellows, barbel, etc.

So basiclly, if you need to get some peace and quiet, if you want to get away from the world's problems, if you want a romantic get away, this is definitely the place for you.

Linda and Patrick, thanks a million for everything. And although we didn't see eachother alot during my stay due to my work responsibilities, I will always recommend your establishment to anybody needing some rest and relaxation.

Taylor's Cottages a great place to stay
Taylor's Cottges was a great place to stay. It is a stunning location in the bush yet close to Gaborone. The cottages were set so that you were unable to see any others and were clean and very well maintained. However, the Kitchen facilities were very poor and the continental breakfast self service from the fridge was substandard. It should be advertised as bed only.
