The Thakadu Bush camp is situated in the charming town of Ghanzi. From this location, guests have easy access to the Central Kalahari Nature Reserve. You can expect to see vast landscapes teeming with lions, cheetahs and other spectacular wildlife. If you are looking for a true African bush experience, look no further than the Thakadu Bush Camp.
This area is one of the last untouched areas in the world. Before the construction of the Trans Kalahari Highway in 1998 travel to this area was limited. The people living in this area are widely considered the last genuine Bushmen on earth.

Guests at the Thakadu Bush Camp can choose between a basic campsite, or one of our luxurious Meru tents. The Meru tents come in double or single and have en suite facilities. The campsites are shaded by the plentiful Leadwood trees that thrive in the Limestone ridge which runs through the property.
Ghanzi is often referred to as the “Capital of the Kalahari” and it’s easy to see why. Even though it is in the middle of nowhere, this little town has grown in leaps and bounds since the introduction of the Trans Kalahari Highway which has made it accessible to visitors.
For nature lovers, Thakadu is a paradise. Wildlife is abundant here and guests can expect to see most of the big five. Game drives with our knowledgeable guides are highly recommended! Birdwatchers will delight at the spectacular array of birdlife surrounding the camp.
At the end of a long hard day you can out up your feet and enjoy a frosty drink at our bar. Night game drives are also highly recommended as guests will have the opportunity to see many of the nocturnal creatures that live here.
Come and enjoy a true African experience at the Thadaku bush camp!
