Place falling apart
This place has wonderfull potential. The current management staff (Johan and Barbet) are very friendly and helpfull. (They are doing a GREAT job) However .... they are struggling a lot without the support from there top management regarding maintenance. There is no backup generator (and we had two power cuts in three days thru the Botswana Government) Some of the huts need URGENT attention. Leaking roofs, leaking taps, blocked drains, etc.
Please speak to top management and help Johan and Barbet to make this the greatest lodge in Botswana. It has all the potential. They just need money and support from top management.

The perfect place
I loved this place. I looked fine, the people working there are so friendly, the pool is cold, the trip to the Mkgadikgadi pans was magical. We stayed in our own tent and only did the trip to pans, but they have a lot more to offer. I think the owner treats his staff very well, because the vibe was good and it seemed like people enjoyed working there.

Planet of the past
Living in past glory we found the huts and food choices inadequate and
unsatisfactory. Nowhere to put clothes very dimly lit and no bed side tables.
All the staff were friendly however, perhaps an upgrade would help.

Planet Baobab: 21 June 2010
We were well received. Rob moved us to a vacant overlanding site when the site was already occupied by next door campers electricity leads. The site was clean and good to enjoy. Please make a plan and sel some firewood that actually burns. Amenities were great and bar was a treat.

What a great place!
My wife and I stayed at Planet Baobab on our way to South Africa from Namibia. What a great place! An true oasis in the middle of nowhere! The people are friendly, the food is good, and the beer is cold (and so are the swimming pool...). The setup is very nice and everything is very neat and tidy (including the bathrooms at the camp sites). It was an absolute pleasure staying at Planet Baobab, I will most defenitely visit again and recommend it to everybody visiting Botswana, even if it's just for a quick stop over to have a rest before continuing your journey.

Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Kind regards,
Jacques

Stay at Planet Baobab
Although we booked for 2 ninghts at Planet B, we stayed four due to us not being able to find our next camping site on the Boteti River.
The facilities at PlanetB are extremely neat and well looked after. The bathrooms were always clean and everything (taps, basis, showers etc) was in perfect working order. The washing-up facilities also were always clean and neat.
Only two things irritated us: On the second day of our stay there was not hot water in our bathroom until the next day. Some of the huts' overhangs are quite low in places and you had to duck every time you moved past it and if you forgot - a friendly knock on the head.
It was great seeing a group of elehants at the small waterhole on the campings sites' side of PlanetB one night..
Staff were always courteous and eager to assist. Manager Alwyn was a wealth of information about routes, roads and buying permits.
Patrolling guards were alarming at first, but were always quiet and discreet and equally friendly and courteous.

Feedback accomm Planet Baobab
Booking experience: Onerous
Reception: friendly, but BWP100 key deposit per room is insulting.
Dinner: Food good and plentiful. service good.
Breakfast: Ditto.
Requested boiling water for my thermos bottle. Too much trouble.
Bar rip: BWP34.00 for a Bloody Mary?
Room lighting too dim. Pathway lighting non functioning.Regards

Mind blowing first stop in Botswana
Exceptional experience from the outset - Great service by Grace and her staff, beautiful bar, reastaurant and swimming pool area. The campsite was seclided and flat and the ablutions are delightful! One memerable night - wish we could have spent longer.

PLANET BOABAB
We were unfortunate, Planet Boabab was fully booked, but they invited us to have a drink and eat there. Service was very good, we were impressed with the interior decorating and the vibe was nice. Excellent value for money regarding the food and drinks. The women loved the lanterns used to go to the toilets!

We had to sleep at Gweta and was not at all impressed. A real ripoff.

Easter weekend 2010 at Planet Baobab
Great swimming pool. The thatch shelters at the campsite were most welcome as we had a lot of rain. Although the ablutions were very good it was disappointing in that we had no hot water for the four days we stayed. It's a great base to explore the baobabs, of which Chapmans's baobab was truly stunning.
