Abu Camp

Abu Camp is located in the heart of the world's largest inland river system, the Okavango Delta, on close to a half a million acres of privately owned pristine wilderness land. This unspoiled wilderness with its delicate eco-system has remained pure and hosts a variety of animals and birds.

Accommodation at Abu Camp consists of:

Deep in the riverine forest at Abu Camp, six custom built tents accommodates twelve guests. The tents are stylish and elegantly furnished, and have en-suite bathrooms. The tents are situated under shady trees and have wooden decking that overlooks the lagoon. Guests can sit and watch the rich bird and animal life that thrives in these surroundings. Alternatively guests can also view the animals from the main deck which is molded around the enormous trees, while enjoying long cool drinks.

Exquisite meals are prepared by the safari chefs and fine wines accompany the outstanding cuisine. Guests can enjoy their meals amidst sounds of the bush. The roar of a lion or the call of an owl will remind guests that they are in Africa.

Five minutes away from Abu Camp, across the lagoon is Abu Private Villa and sleeps only four guests. Guests have their own piece of paradise with a swimming pool, chef, guide and exclusive use of a vehicle.

At Abu Camp, guests experience a special deep connection with the elephants, whether they are just walking with them, or sight-seeing through the bush on elephant back, they will feel closer to nature and learn to understand these majestic, sensitive animals. All the guests arrive and depart at the same time, allowing them to inhale their tranquil surroundings, and to spend equal quality time with the elephants at the same pace.

Other activities available at Abu Camp are guided nature walks, game drives, floating in a mokoro down the Okavango Delta's crystal water, and bird watching, with over 500 species to tantalize the keen bird watchers appetite.

Guests will leave Abu Camp with a far better understanding of the intricate herd structure of elephants, their intelligence, the role they play in the herd formation and that even with their ability to make themselves heard over kilometers of African bush, these animals teach everyone that even in greatness, there is humbleness.

Stunning surroundings, breathtaking views, the close bond that is formed with the elephants, is but a few of the top quality attributes that Abu Camp have to offer their guests. Beautiful authentic style accommodation, excellent service and the peace and serenity guests will encounter, are all the things that make Abu Camp a special place to remember.
