Okavango Houseboats

The Okavango is the world’s largest island Delta and the calm waters is ideal for house boats to operate in this area. The diverse wild and birdlife creates a perfect paradise for anglers and nature lovers to enjoy.

There are three self drive tender boats available for fishing. Apart from the notorious tiger fish there are other species like bream and pike to catch. The catfish migrate upstream just before the floods and embark on an intensive feeding frenzy. They beat their bodies against the papyrus plants in an effort to get the fish out of their hiding spot. The catfish hunts in packs and this event can be seen from quite a distance as the waters maul around them. Fish- eating birds like herons, kingfishers and fish eagles make use of this opportunity for a fast, free and quick meal. House boats are a tranquil way of enjoying the spectacular views, the abundant wildlife and the varied species of birds of the Okavango Delta. The calm clear water will wash away all your troubles and cleanse you from within.
