Xugana Island Lodge is situated in the Okavango Delta and is located on the banks of the Xugana Lagoon. Accommodation at Xugana Island Lodge consists of: Xugana Island Lodge accommodation consists of 8 large raised thatched and reed chalets. The chalets have twin beds, en-suite facilities, walk-in showers and ceiling fans. Each chalet has a private deck that overlooks the lagoon and vegetation.
Facilities include an open boma for al fresco dining, and have a magnificent view of the lagoon. The lounge, bar and dining area is framed by a canopy of wild fig and leadwood trees. Beautiful mature gardens in the centre of the island hosts a unique caged swimming pool to keep the crocodiles at bay, where guests can relax and swim in the clear waters of the lagoon. A small curio shop is on site.
Activities consist of mokoro (eco-friendly dug out canoes) trips, guided walking tours in the concession, excellent bird and game watching opportunities, and tiger and bream fishing are offered at the lodge. The permanent water site, bordered by wooded islands, sustains a wide variety of bird and wildlife. Amongst the predator animals that can be sighted are zebra, cheetah, leopard, lion and wild dog. The perfect water environment attracts species such as elephant, hippo, kudu and zebra. The wetland eco-system is a paradise attracting many species of birds such as the African Fish Eagle, and Fishing Owl.
