Day 1 Victoria Falls/Livingstone: Muli shani! Welcome to Zambia.
An arrival transfer is included as part of your holiday. Please provide us with your flight arrival details at least 15 days prior to departure.
After checking in to your superior accommodation you will be picked up and taken to visit the magnificent Victoria Falls (Zambian side). The falls are an enormous curtain of water, about a mile wide, falling 108 m into a narrow chasm below. In the wet season, the spray created can rise up an incredible 400 m and the falls are an impressive raging torrent. The spray from the falls can sometimes be seen from kilometres away. It's no wonder the local name Mosi oa Tunya, means the "smoke that thunders". In the dry season, the view of the falls is unobstructed by spray and it's possible to see little islets in the river below.
Meals included: none
Overnight: Your accommodation for tonight is at the Zambezi Waterfront in an en suite chalet.
Days 2-3 Chobe National Park: This morning after breakfast, you'll drive to the Chobe National Park. We drive about 45 minutes (70km) out of Livingstone to meet the Kazangula Ferry. The ferry ride takes approximately 3 hours, depending on their schedule for the day. Once we disembark the ferry into Botswana it is only a 15km drive to our accommodation, roughly 20 minutes.
The Chobe is the second largest national park in Botswana and has one of the greatest concentrations of game on the African continent. With some 120,000 elephants, large herds of buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes and many more of Africa's most famous creatures, game drives here are almost guaranteed to be incredibly rewarding. All park fees are included.
Enjoy a 3-hour river cruise on the Chobe River - a chance to spot hippos and fish-eagles - followed by lunch at the bush camp. An afternoon game drive in the Chobe is followed by dinner in the camp.
Rise early on day 3 for an early morning game drive, followed by a hearty brunch at camp. After lunch and a short midday siesta (just like most of the plains animals!) you'll be able to go out on another afternoon game drive. Enjoy a final dinner at camp and recount your safari experience with your fellow travellers. Game drives are in an open game drive vehicle and accompanied by a qualified guide.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
All meals, water and wine with meals are included at the camp. Drinks other than those mentioned are not included on your safari. Drinks can be purchased at a bottle store in Kasane town before entering the park.
Overnight: Bush camp in the Chobe
Please note that our bush camp in the Chobe will be in a private HATAB campsite, away from the self-drive tourist campsites. These campsites are only available to registered HATAB operators. Accommodation is in dome tents with duvets and pillows on stretcher beds, all which are provided. You will need to bring your own towels however.
Day 4 Victoria Falls/Livingstone: Drive back to Livingstone to be transferred to the Waterfront Hotel or Livingstone Airport. It takes roughly 4 hours total for the short drive to the ferry, the ferry itself and then the 45 minute drive back to Livingstone.
If you plan to stay in Livingstone a few more days, there are plenty of activities to partake in. This charming town is quickly becoming known as Africa's adrenaline capital with bungee-jumping, white water rafting, microlighting and abseiling being just a handful of the activities on offer.
